Personalized Recreation Therapy & Engagement Services

How Our Services Work

Silver Roots provides therapeutic recreation and engagement services designed to support older adults in maintaining connection, purpose, and wellbeing.

Each service is tailored to the individual’s abilities, interests, and personal history.

Step 1: Book a free consultation

During our consultation, we will:

• connect for a brief conversation to understand your needs
• discuss the individual’s interests, abilities, and goals
• explore what type of support may be most helpful
• answer any questions you may have

There is no obligation! The goal is simply to learn more about how we can support you.

Step 2: Let’s decide what the next steps are…

This is where more personalized care conversations begin. We’ll take time to gather a bit of social history and learn the unique details of the individual receiving care. From there, we can explore how often support feels right and what you’d like that care to look like.

This is where we thoughtfully walk through the details together.

Coming soon! Coming soon!

Family Information Night: Dementia

A family information night on dementia is a warm, supportive space designed to help loved ones better understand what their parent is experiencing. We explore the intricacies of the disease. How it affects memory, behaviour, and communication, while gently reframing expectations so families can meet their loved one where they are.

The evening also focuses on coping strategies for families, acknowledging the emotional weight that can come with this journey and offering practical ways to navigate it with resilience and compassion. We share meaningful, realistic approaches to connection, simple ways to engage that reduce frustration, build comfort, and create moments of joy.

Above all, it’s a space for learning, sharing, and feeling less alone, with room for questions, conversation, and support.

Stay tuned for dates in the upcoming future!

“My mom was sometimes a bit difficult and was not always receptive to recreation activities.

Naomi built a wonderful connection with my mom and with her encouragement, mom participated in more activities that she came to enjoy.”
